Updated 6th December
We are continuing with services and other events as much as possible.
Our community hall has been refurbished and is ready to rent. It is suitable for a wide range of activities and classes as well as parties and concerts. Please contact Angela at hall@stmarks.london for more details and book your slot.
The roof trusses which are causing so much consternation have now been safely removed. This has enabled the archaeologists to continue their work finding fragments of mosaic tiles and pieces of stained glass. It's like the world's biggest jigsaw puzzle!
The next engineering feat is to safely remove the damaged beams and detritus from the tower. When this is done it will be safe for the archaeologists to finish their work in the west end of the church, particularly around the font.
In the meantime we are engaging with people locally to reimagine what St Mark's can offer the community in the future.
